“That’s what I like about Broadway, it’s a bunch of local people who are crazy enough to start their own business.”
Meet Celene Dupruis. Celene is the owner of Revamp Salon Company. Celebrating its first year of business this past December, Revamp is a full service salon located just off Broadway Avenue and 11th Street. When deciding where Revamp should open its doors, Celene was drawn to Broadway’s liveliness and vibrant energy. She loved how the neighbourhood was a one stop destination for entertainment, great restaurants, and urban shopping. Inspired by the district’s environmentally conscious practices and eclectic mix of new and old, Celene knew that Broadway District was the perfect fit. As a Redken platform artist and educator, Celene is an advocate for continued education within the beauty industry. She believes staff education is an important part of her business, therefore it was no surprise when Revamp became the first salon in Saskatoon to partner with Canadian recycling company, Green Circle Salon. Focused on reducing the salon industry’s environmental impact, Revamp currently recycles and re-purposes 98% of its salons materials (i.e. hair clippings and foils) once destined for landfill. When Celene isn’t working with her clients, you will most likely find her sipping on a latte at Museo Coffee or grabbing dinner at Sushiro Sushi Bar.
