“Broadway for me is kind of an all-day destination. You get up; you can get the best coffee in town here; you can work all day; you can get great supper; you can go to a show in the evening. It’s morning to evening. There’s days where I’m on the street at 8 am and don’t go home until the show ends at night. I think that’s a pretty unique environment.”
Meet Reid Challis. Reid is one of the managers at The Bike Doctor and sits on the Broadway BID’s Board of Directors. A cycling enthusiast since high school, Challis admits that biking did not play a huge role in his childhood: “My first bike ride was terrifying. I hated biking until…well it took me a while to actually like biking. I was always on my mom’s old bike and that sort of thing, and it was so big it’d crash all the time. Now it’s my favourite thing ever.” Reid has participated in trial cycling competitions around the country and is currently studying marketing in his spare time. When Reid isn’t busy working at Bike Doctor or attending board meetings, you can find him cycling around or at shows within the Broadway area.
