Building on the success of BBID’s De-escalation & Safety in the Workplace workshop, these two-hour mini-sessions bring key learnings directly to Broadway and Nutana.

Facilitated by the Broadway Business Improvement District, these sessions provide frontline staff, managers, and community members with practical tools, resources, and strategies to help navigate challenging public interactions safely and confidently.

Drawing on insights shared by The Mustard Seed, Saskatoon Police Service Community Mobilization Unit, and community partners, participants will explore situational awareness, de-escalation techniques, professional boundaries, and approaches for interacting respectfully with vulnerable populations.

Through discussion and real-world examples, attendees will gain a better understanding of the challenges facing many individuals in our community, while learning how to respond with empathy, maintain safety, and access appropriate supports when needed.

Participants will leave with practical takeaways, resource materials, and increased confidence in creating safe, respectful, and welcoming environments for staff, customers, and community members alike.
