So, students, consider this your Student Survival Guide to Broadway 2026.
Broadway is full of places to eat, study, shop, pick up the things you forgot you needed and spend a few hours away from campus. Even better, a growing number of Broadway businesses have special offers available when you show a current student ID.
Rule #1: Feed Yourself
We know. It sounds obvious.
But somewhere between an 8:00 a.m. class, an assignment due at midnight and whatever is happening in the group chat, lunch can become an afterthought.
Fortunately, Broadway has a few student deals that can help.

Sometimes student survival looks like a really good burger that doesn’t eat up the rest of your week’s budget.
Show your current student ID at Ace Burger for a $5 Smash Burger.
The Dough Box — 15% Off Every Monday
Monday deserves something good.
Students receive 15% off every Monday at The Dough Box, with wood-fired pizza, pasta and plenty of build-your-own options.
It’s also an easy option when a study session suddenly turns into a dinner session.
OAKBERRY — 10% Off
For breakfast, an afternoon snack or something to grab before heading back to class, students receive 10% off at OAKBERRY.
Choose an açaí bowl or smoothie and customize it with your favourite toppings.
Pizza Hut — 50% Off Regular-Priced Menu Items
This one could be particularly useful when the study group gets hungry.
Students receive 50% off regular-priced menu items at Broadway’s Pizza Hut location with a current student ID.
Prairie Sun Brewery — 15% Off
Sometimes survival means closing the laptop and actually having dinner with other humans.
Students receive a 15% discount at Prairie Sun Brewery with a current student ID. Prairie Sun is a casual Broadway gathering place with burgers, sandwiches, shareable dishes and plenty of comfort-food favourites, making it an easy place to meet up with classmates for lunch or dinner after a long day.

Reem Star — Chicken or Beef Wrap + Drink for $13.99
Reem Star brings Syrian and Middle Eastern flavours to Broadway with shawarma, donair, falafel, wraps, bowls and plates.
Students can get a Chicken or Beef Wrap plus a drink for $13.99 with a current student ID.
Rule #2: Buy Some Actual Groceries
Eating out is great. Eating out for every meal is somewhat less compatible with a student budget.
Steep Hill Food Co-op — $10 Student Membership Until October 31
Students can purchase a Steep Hill Food Co-op membership for just $10 until October 31 and receive all the same benefits as regular co-op members.
Members save 3% on purchases, with 6% savings on the day a membership is purchased or renewed. Membership also includes access to Members Only Sale days, case-lot savings and the ability to place special orders for products the store doesn’t regularly carry.
And because Steep Hill is a co-operative, membership comes with something a little different: a voice in how the organization operates. Members can vote at the Annual General Meeting and can even run for the Board of Directors if getting really involved in your neighbourhood grocery store sounds like your thing.
For students buying groceries throughout the school year, those savings can add up.
Rule #3: Find Somewhere Else to Study
There comes a point when campus, home and your usual study spot just aren’t working anymore.
Broadway Collective — $100/Month Student Membership
For $100/month, students can access Broadway Collective’s coworking space, including 24/7 access, high-speed Wi-Fi, coffee and tea, work and study spaces, a lunchroom, printing, copying and scanning.
It’s somewhere to write the paper, finish the group project, take an online meeting or just get a few hours of uninterrupted work done.
Rule #4: Move Your Body and Clear Your Head
Assignments, deadlines and hours spent sitting in class or staring at a screen can be a lot. Sometimes the best thing you can do is get up and move.

Rule #7: Take Care of the Things You Keep Putting Off

Known for an eclectic collection of distinctive frames and personalized service, Optika is a great stop if your back-to-school list includes new eyewear, especially if you want something with a little more personality.
Rule #8: Leave Campus Once in a While
This might be the most important part of the guide.
Broadway doesn’t have to be another errand.
Come down for lunch and stay for a walk. Wander through a shop you’ve never visited. Grab groceries. Study for a couple of hours. Check out the murals. Walk toward the river. Catch a movie or live performance. Meet a friend. Find somewhere to sit for a while.
School can get very focused on getting from one deadline to the next. Sometimes getting through the year also means finding places where you can spend a little time that aren’t school and aren’t home.
